Welcome to Hotel Simader

dive into the spectacular mountain world of Hohe Tauern

Our House

The Hotel Simader was built in the 60s by the Simader family from Lend and expanded to its current state in the early 80s in the classic "Alpine style". The hotel lies not far from the train station, the mountain railroad to the Stubnerkogel, not the world-famous center as well as the relaxing Felsentherme – but far away from everyday life

Rooms

From the balconies the eye wanders to the magnificent mountains of Hohe Tauern. All our rooms are equipped with bath, shower, WC, TV and WiFi. After a relaxing night in a single room, double room or with the children in the family room, a rich breakfast buffet awaits you in the morning. We also offer half board on request.

Bad Gastein

This alpine village, originally built on the steep and rugged slopes next to the world-famous waterfall, fascinates with its eventful history. The search for gold and silver led to the Gastein Valley early on. Parts of these mining tunnels, in which the temperature can reach up to 42° with almost 100% humidity, are still used today at Gasteiner Heilstollen for therapeutic applications.

Since the beginning of modern times Bad Gastein has been associated with hot thermal springs (up to 48°) in the area of the world-famous waterfall. Kings and emperors already knew how to use the benefits of the warm healing springs. Around the turn of the century, the chic buildings of the Belle Epoque were built. With the congress center and Felsentherme architectural reference buildings of Brutalism were built.

Today, winter tourism with its numerous facets characterises the wintry resort and attracts people from all over the world. This interplay between past and present is what makes Bad Gastein so extraordinary.

Summer

What could be more beautiful than diving into the cool summer of Bad Gastein with its green meadows, imposing mountains, thundering waterfalls and calming mountain lakes? The surrounding area offers countless possibilities of activities for young and old, sporty and leisurely, from hiking to mountaineering, from the mountain lake to Felsentherme, from Brettljause on the alpine meadow down to the golf course. Also the Alpe Adria cycle path leads from Salzburg to Trieste via the Gastein Valley directly past Hotel Simader.

Winter

In the winter, Bad Gastein's altitude of 1100 m above sea level and its proximity to the main ridge of the Alps make it the ideal place to enjoy a snowy holiday. In the Gastein Valley, 200 km of ski slopes with state-of-the-art lifts and 40 km of cross-country ski trails await exploration. Sportgastein is a special jewel in many ways. Above the tree line, Sportgastein is considered a Mecca of the freeride scene in Austria. Naßfeld (1600m above sea level), the head of Gastein valley, is considered by experts to be a snow-sure cross-country skiing Eldorado with an impressive alpine backdrop.

Those who like it more contemplatively, can enter the Bad Gasteiner cross-country skiing trail in close proximity to hotel Simader, take a beautiful winter stroll at the Empress Elisabeth promenade into the gold mining village Böckstein, let the day end at Snow Jazz Gastein, or simply relax at Felsentherme.
